Just a little fall sorting into 3 categories to end the day! We learned that sorting is putting things that are alike together. We each took a turn sorting using the Promethean Board. Try sorting at home by shape, colors, size or even silverware at dinner time!

5 Little Apples
Try reading this poem at home with your child! We have been practicing reading this poem together and pointing to each word. It's fun talking about the rhyming words. We love taking the apples on and off the tree and counting them!
We are Scientists...
Looking at all of the different parts
Tasting the yummy apples
Coloring our favorite apple
Graphing our apples
We counted the apples in each column and talked about which column had the most and least
Red Delicious for the win!!!
Time to go out and buy your child's favorite apple!!! :)
Say Cheese!
Photo Day will take place on Thursday, October 8th! Order forms for pictures were sent home in take home folders last week. Every student should have received one. If not...please let me know! The students should bring in their order form on photo day (in their take home folder). If you have any questions, please let me know!
Teacher's Helper is in effect!
Last week in Pre-K, we started the very important job of the "Teacher's Helper". The Teacher's Helper has quite a few responsibilities for the day! The helper is in charge of leading morning meeting and taking care of "jobs" such as attendance, calendar, weather, counting the days of school, and line leader, just to name a few. The helper also gets to sit in a special chair on the rug. The Teacher's Helper changes daily and goes in alphabetical order by first name. It's great to see each student take such pride in their responsibilities for the day! A huge thank you last week's Teacher's Helpers, Adam, Adan, Ashley, Carmelo and Christian....they nailed it! :)
Adam counting the days of school
Aden leading the line
Meteorologist, Christian, checking out the weather
Carmelo taking attendance
Ashley pointing to the days of the week
Stay tuned for our next Teacher's Helpers!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for coming to Open House! The night was a success. If you were not able to make it, please be sure to check your child's folder for important Open House information. As always, if you have any questions please email kbarford@stamfordct.gov or place a note in your child's take home folder. Your kindness and support is greatly appreciated!
