100 Days Brighter!

We did it....we are officially 100 days brighter in Pre-K! Kiss your brain...muahhh! We had a jam packed FUN day of celebrating! Check out the pics below to see what our fun filled day had in store for us.

Valentine's Day!

We will celebrate Valentine's Day on Wednesday with a small, class celebration. If you have signed up to send in items, please be sure to send them to school with your child, or drop them off before 12:00.

If you wish to send in valentines, please be sure there is one for every student. We have 15 children...8 girls and 7 boys.  To make the process of handing out the valentines easier, I ask that you only write your child's name. Please send them to school with your child on Wednesday morning.

I welcome students to wear red or pink on Wednesday!

Pre-K :)

 We learned about MLK's dream....for all people to get along. In Pre-K we talked about how we should not care about what people look like on the outside, but who they are on the inside! We read "It's Okay to be Different" by Todd Parr and read a scholastic digital magazine about Dr. King. Our little scholars made our own "I Have a Dream" hats and wore them proudly! I hope you enjoyed the day off!

We may look different.....

But we are all friends!

Our Pre-K dream is that we are all nice to each other and two thumbs up to Pre-K for accomplishing this!

Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear?

In January, we focused on Polar Bears by reading fiction and non-fiction stories. We even read National Geographic Kids magazine and, our course, our favorite magazine, Scholastic,to gather more information! We wrapped up Polar Bears by creating our very own Polar Bears (yes...they were made 100% by the Pre-K kiddos)! One of my absolute favorite projects. They took time and hard work, but were made into beautiful masterpieces! We've gotten so many compliments on them and this is one project you may want to frame and keep...I definitely would!

The first steps of the process were done in pencil. For example, first we are going to make a big big mountain for the head. Then, 2 small hills for the ears, etc. Then, we colored in the eyes, nose and mouth with black marker.

Next, the artists painted carefully.

Then made some snow by dipping q-tips into white paint and dabbing the paper!

Last, we each listed a fact about Polar Bears!
Here they are...LOVE LOVE them!

Love how similar these polar bears are, but SO different!
