Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year is on Saturday, January 28th.  2017 is the year of the rooster.

We will read books about the traditions of this holiday and will make fierce dragon puppets on Friday. Since red is a lucky color, please try to dress your child with some red on Friday, January 27th (I know this is last minute, so if your child does not have anything red, please don’t worry!). We may have our own little parade through the Roxbury halls!

Don't rush when you brush!

We had a surprise visit from Mrs. P to teach us how to keep our teeth healthy and to check our teeth!
Mrs. P read "The Tooth Book" by Dr. Seuss!
We loved hearing all of the silly rhymes!
Then, we met "Mr. B" who helped teach us how to brush our teeth and even our tongue!
We learned a few cool rhymes that our helpful when brushing our teeth....
"Don't rush when you brush!"
and
"Just a dot, not a lot!" when using our toothpaste!

Thanks for visiting Mrs. P! We promise to brush our teeth and eat healthy foods and drink!

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Happy birthday to you! We hope you have a fabulous year, Matthew! We enjoyed the yummy cupcakes! xoxo

Happy Birthday Sloane!

We hope all of your wishes come true! Thanks for your "pinkalicious" cupcakes! xoxo

We may look different, but we are all friends!

On Friday, we learned about MLK's dream....for all people to get along. In Pre-K we talked about how we should not care about what people look like on the outside, but who they are on the inside! We read "It's Okay to be Different" by Todd Parr and read a scholastic digital magazine about Dr. King. Our little scholars made our own "I Have a Dream" hats and wore them proudly! I hope you enjoyed the day off!

Enjoying some fresh air! :)

They may look different....
But they are friends!!!!

Our Pre-K dream is that we are all nice to each other and two thumbs up to Pre-K for accomplishing this!

Holiday Fun!

We kicked off the holiday season with Kwanzaa! We read Kwanzaa stories and decorated Kwanzaa mats. We learned about Kwanzaa traditions such as lighting the Kinara and the colors of Kwanzaa...red, green, black and yellow!

We then read Hanukkah stories and learned about Hanukkah traditions! We learned that Hanukkah lasts for 8 nights, you light the menorah and a game played is spinning the dreidel! Thank you to Mrs. Pachter and Mrs. Cooper for coming in to teach us some Hanukkah traditions!
