REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!

In "The 3 R's" song Jack Johnson teaches us the importance of the 3 R's....
REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!!!!
If you're going to the market to buy some juice
You've got to bring your own bags and you learn to reduce your waste
And if your brother or your sister's got some cool clothes
You could try them on before you buy some more of those
Reuse, we've got to learn to reuse
And if the first two R's don't work out
And if you've got to make some trash
Don't throw it out
Recycle, we've got to learn to recycle,
We've got to learn to
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

As we've been learning about Earth Day... Pre-K has been doing some hands on learning using recyclables (Thanks to our Pre-K families)! We have been finding the recycle symbol on our recyclables and categorizing them into groups such as paper, plastic, metal and glass. Pre-K has been learning ways to help protect our Earth through books, Scholastic magazines and songs. Be sure to check in again soon to see us get creative using these recyclables in room 204's very own "Recycling Center". Click on the link below to hear Jack Johnson's catchy tune "The 3 R's". Remember to REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!

After reading a story about protecting our Earth, the students came up with many ways how they can help the Earth!

Sorting through some recyclables...

All sorted...paper, plastic, glass and metal!

Important Character Assembly Announcement!

Last week, you received a couple of notices regarding the Character Assembly on
Wednesday, April 20th! Pre-K and K will be performing at the start of each assembly. To celebrate National Autism Awareness Month, we are inviting students to wear a red, yellow or blue shirt to school on the day of our assembly. Thank you....we hope to see you there! :)

More Weather!

To wrap up our weather unit, we made a list of the different types of weather we have learned. Then, each student chose the weather they would like to create. The students gathered materials to create their weather and got to work! They even had the opportunity to write the name of the weather if they wished! Come see for yourself! The weather is displayed outside of our classroom. :)
